La Mobilière enriches the Locarno Film Festival with the Prefestival, Rotonda and Locarno Kids programme
Donnerstag, 3. Juli 2025Working closely with the Festival, la Mobilière, the event’s main partner, has made the Rotonda a major attraction for filmgoers and the Ticino community. And its Locarno Kids programme opens up the captivating world of film and cinema for children and families.
A mere stone's throw from the Piazza Grande, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare is a magical meeting place with music, culinary delights and artwork created by la Mobilière and the Festival. Local residents, families and Festival goers can mix and mingle within this reen oasis.

The Rotonda by la Mobiliare is open from 31 July until 16 August, offering a diverse programme of concerts by Swiss and international artists. The line-up features Marc Sway and Eurovision Song Contest finalists Zoë Më and Lucio Corsi. An extensive selection of street food, immersive art installations and a family corner await visitors to the venue.
Locarno Kids la Mobiliare: nurturing interest in the cinema among children and families
The Locarno Kids programme aims to inspire a passion for film in children and families. The predominantly Italian-language programme curated by la Mobilière includes the Prefestival on 3 August, free film screenings during and after the Festival, workshops, and the Atelier du Futur – a futuristic, multi-day creative lab for young people.
On 12 August, all eyes will turn to the Piazza Grande, where the Locarno Kids Award will be presented to Ticino-based animation filmmaker Marcel Barelli. Barelli’s short films, which have earned numerous international accolades, address the acute imbalance between humanity and the environment. He currently lives in Geneva.
Partnership extended for three years
La Mobilière has been the Locarno Film Festival’s main partner and sponsor since 2017. It has now extended this partnership for a further three years. La Mobilière is thereby demonstrating its ongoing commitment to art and culture, young people and the Ticino community.
